Memory lane.

Brian and I celebrated 5 years of Marriage in Dec.  I had wanted to post some photos from our wedding at that time, but didn't have a great scanner.  We now have a better scanner, and 6 months later, I am finally getting around to loading them on my computer.  I have had a great time looking at them again.  It was such a great day and I think our photographer did a great job of capturing the most special moments.

Hard to believe it's been 5 plus years.  So much has happened and it's been an amazing ride. Four houses, four cities, two countries, two kids, one MBA and a few gray hairs later, we are happy, healthy, and still very much in love.

There are hundreds of photos, so I just scanned some of my favorites.  Enjoy!

If you're still with me here, thanks for indulging me.

Thanks for a great party mom and dad, and thanks for asking Brian. I'm sure glad I said yes!

And this boy loves the ladies.

Family, family, everywhere!

We had some very special visitors in Austin this past weekend. My grandmother (who I hadn't seen in 3 years) and my Aunt and Uncle (who I hadn't seen in 4.5 years) came to visit from Kentucky. On top of that, my brother, sister-in-law and their 3 kids came too. We had a great visit with everyone and the cousins had a ball together. I hope it won't be too long before we're together again. Thank you for coming.

Great Grandmother met Henry for the first time.

All the great grandchildren in one room!

Aubrey hadn't seen her great grandmother since she was 6 months old.

Aunt Barbara and Uncle John met Aubrey and Henry for the first time.

Messy mess makers.

Obviously, there wasn't a lot of bloggin' going on around here last week. Just a lot of cleaning up after these two yay-hoos.

Allow me to introduce Messy Mess Maker #1

and Messy Mess Maker #2

And between cleanings, this is what I had to contend with.  What am I going to do with this one?

Santa Fe. The end.

After a great week and a half in Santa Fe, we headed back to Texas today, and were greeted with 103 degree heat.  As Aubrey would say..."Yikes." We were pretty busy the last few days there since Brian flew out Thursday after work.  We packed in a few hikes, had some great meals, and just enjoyed spending time with the kids and my parents.  We even managed a date night.  I was thankful to have help with the drive back too. Whew.  It was a long day and I'm happy to be home.  Here are a few photos from our last few days in NM.

We took Aubrey and Henry on a hike at the Nature Preserve. It turned out to be about 2 miles, and Aubrey did the whole thing without complaining!

Santa Fe. Part...Abiquiu, NM

Today, we were brave souls and loaded the kids up after breakfast and headed to Abiquiu, the place made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe.  It was truly spectacular, although the hour ride up and hour ride back were less than memorable. Screaming baby, whiney toddler. You get the picture. Although we spent less time there than we did getting to and from, I was able to take a few (nearly 100) photos. Although the light was less than ideal, it was still beautiful and worth the effort.

This is Henry saying "ALL DONE."
I really meant it... "ALL DONE." (makes you want to drive 14 hours back to Texas with him, doesn't it?)

Santa Fe. Part 4

I should really come up with more interesting titles for these posts. But who has time for that when you're in paradise, right?

Yesterday, my mom and I took the kids out to lunch and then to see some prairie dogs at this fun store called Jackalope. Aubrey loves seeing them bask in the sun. Even Henry got a little excited , thrusting his right arm out as if to say "see, I see, do you see?" It's his universal sign for everything now. While the kids were napping, I made it down to the Plaza and walked around for a bit and took some photos.

Today has been a little slow. Aubrey has been complaining that her lips hurt, and pointing inside her mouth. I thought maybe she had developed an ulcer inside her check as a result of her little bug. Well, turns out her tongue is full of blisters. Poor thing. It hurts her to eat and she is crabby, cuz the girl likes to eat. A quick call to the Doc confirmed it's probably just part of whatever virus she had/has, so we're trying to feed her cold, soft food and hope it passes quickly. We did make it to the playground after lunch to help wear them out. Might have been too much. Aubrey pitched a world class fit when we returned (over who knows what) and went straight to bed for a nap. She actually slept, which will mean a late night. Oh well. I think she needed the nap more than I need her to go to bed early.
