We're melting.

To say it's been hot here this summer would be an understatement.  I lost count of how many days we've had over 100 degrees.  Needless to say, we haven't been spending much time outside, which is a shame considering our neighbors passed on some great play equipment to us.  Our time outside is not only limited by the heat, but also by the fact that my sweet 14 month old is still not walking.  And frankly, who would want to crawl around on this?

D.E.A.D. grass.  Itchy, scratchy, fire-ant invested (actually, I think it's even too hot for them lately), rental house grass.  And really, you can only be out for about 2 mintues before this happens...

red faces
and sweaty heads.
So we spend a lot of time inside, and a lot of time like this.
Our house is one big playroom right now. And one big mess.
But our imaginations are running wild, which is pretty fun. The latest game... superhero.

Meet Rocketgirl.
And that's about it. Oh yeah, we've had a recent bout with the stomach bug, which has added to our time at home. Is summer over yet?

Memory lane.

Brian and I celebrated 5 years of Marriage in Dec.  I had wanted to post some photos from our wedding at that time, but didn't have a great scanner.  We now have a better scanner, and 6 months later, I am finally getting around to loading them on my computer.  I have had a great time looking at them again.  It was such a great day and I think our photographer did a great job of capturing the most special moments.

Hard to believe it's been 5 plus years.  So much has happened and it's been an amazing ride. Four houses, four cities, two countries, two kids, one MBA and a few gray hairs later, we are happy, healthy, and still very much in love.

There are hundreds of photos, so I just scanned some of my favorites.  Enjoy!

If you're still with me here, thanks for indulging me.

Thanks for a great party mom and dad, and thanks for asking Brian. I'm sure glad I said yes!

And this boy loves the ladies.

Family, family, everywhere!

We had some very special visitors in Austin this past weekend. My grandmother (who I hadn't seen in 3 years) and my Aunt and Uncle (who I hadn't seen in 4.5 years) came to visit from Kentucky. On top of that, my brother, sister-in-law and their 3 kids came too. We had a great visit with everyone and the cousins had a ball together. I hope it won't be too long before we're together again. Thank you for coming.

Great Grandmother met Henry for the first time.

All the great grandchildren in one room!

Aubrey hadn't seen her great grandmother since she was 6 months old.

Aunt Barbara and Uncle John met Aubrey and Henry for the first time.

Messy mess makers.

Obviously, there wasn't a lot of bloggin' going on around here last week. Just a lot of cleaning up after these two yay-hoos.

Allow me to introduce Messy Mess Maker #1

and Messy Mess Maker #2

And between cleanings, this is what I had to contend with.  What am I going to do with this one?
