Lake and First Haircut!

We had a fun filled day today. Brian took a little break from the books this morning so we could go for a walk around Town Lake. Aubrey loves to run with Daddy, but she is most interested in feeding the ducks and turtles.

Brian was back to work this afternoon, so Aubrey and I went for her first haircut!!! She doesn't have much hair, but it was getting a little unruly. I figured a little trim might help it as it grows out. I expected her to cry a little, but she was a trooper. She got to watch Curious George and sit in a fire truck chair, which definitely helped. You can tell from the pictures she was very serious about it!

Visit with the boys

Today my dear friends Lisa and her brother David stopped by for a visit. Lisa has three boys, including 6 week old Lane. Aubrey was very excited to see the baby and asked if she could hold him. She was so sweet with him. She wanted to help change his diaper and wanted to cover him up with a blanket. I can only hope she is this sweet with her new sibling!

Aubrey's favorite song right now is "Dancing Queen" by Abba.  She has to put her tutu on and dance when it comes on!

We went to the Austin Livestock Show and Rodeo back in March.  Aubrey LOVED the rides!

Heroes Day

Brian was out of town today, so Aubrey and I headed over to Camp Mabry for the Heroes Day celebration. She climbed on some helicopters (the yellow one was her favorite), watched some rescue dogs "play," and loved seeing the airplanes we see from the highway all the time up close. It was a beautiful day to be outside, but a little warm for the pregnant lady! We both had a good nap.

Little pink glasses for you and me...

Aubrey has adjusted really well to her new glasses.  She even cries sometimes when I take them off of her for bath and bed.  Who would have thought???  I'm still not convinced she is using the bifocals correctly, but I'm sure we can work on that over time.  She goes back to the Dr. in 3 weeks or so, and hopefully he will be able to tell how she is really doing with them.  I have to say she is a trooper!  She has been going through a lot of changes, and besides a new bedtime tantrum or two, she is doing well with all of it.  I only pray that continues once the baby arrives. 

On that note, she is convinced she is going to have a baby sister.  Her friend Samuel has a new baby sister, and she says she is going to have one "just like Samuel."  We'll see.  I keep telling her it might be a boy, and she says "nope." 

What's a Blog???

Well, I guess I'm not as old as I think.  I'm still not exactly sure what a "blog" is, but apparently I can start one!  You can teach an old dog new tricks.  Rather than fool with creating another website from scratch, I decided this would be a much easier way to keep you up to date on the Baumhovers and our upcoming family addition.  I'm sure once baby #2 arrives, I will be lucky to get a shower everyday, much less create some fancy webpage. So here it goes!
